I am sorry it has been a little while since I have been able to post! I have been at my family cabin in Ontario, Canada and didn’t have access to the internet. Luckily, I was able to slip away for a few days of solitude and silence, of true quiet. Warm weather is now invading the North and soon much of the snow and ice will be gone. However, I was able to get a few deep breaths of the cool crisp winter air before it all has passed, and I feel much richer for that. Winter does something to the soul, perhaps it causes the soul and mind to slow down, or contemplate the value of life and living -even if I cannot describe it something about it always speaks to me in the depths of my being. The frozen forests and myself.
The photographs below were taken on such a day when I was out for a long snowshoe through the pine-covered cliffs and ridges. It was midday and I wanted a scenic, warm place to eat lunch while I was out. After searching, I found the perfect place on a warm, sunny ridge that was protected from the wind. I hope you enjoy the photographs as I enjoyed the quiet and winter warmth while at this spot!
It’s a Breeeeeeeeeeath one:)
Beautiful snow scene. I can almost breathe the winter air.
Stunning scenery, Thomas! 🙂
Heaven on earth…such raw beauty! Thank you so much for sharing. We have places here in the Highlands of Scotland that are also bleak and beautiful. Food for the soul my friend and a wonderful spot for reflection! 🙂
Breathtaking images.
Pristine snow suggests new beginnings, a fresh slate to ponder and possibly write a new story upon it.
Absolutely gorgeous, Tom! I am originally from Ontario! Cher 🙂
It is truly beautiful 🙂
only ever imagined such scenery – beautiful! 🙂
