“Beauty is composed of many things and never stands alone. It is part of horizons, blue in the distance, great primeval silences, knowledge of all things of the earth… It is so fragile it can be destroyed by a sound or thought. It may be infinitesimally small or encompass the universe itself. It comes in a swift conception wherever nature has not been disturbed.”
-Sigurd Olson
That little fragile frozen bridge between berries – exquisite! And exquisitely captured. Thank you for bringing beauty into my day!
Thank you for sharing Sigurd Olson’s quotation paired with your stunning photos. They make an uplifting combination.
Thanks much Mary! I love Sigurd Olson’s work! Very glad you enjoyed it!
thank you for giving us your beautiful posts Tom, I wonder whether you have read the book the Spell of the Sensuous, by David Abram and his follow up book, Becoming Animal, you would love them. I have been out in the woods for a while, but just stopped by to pick up your latest piece of inspiration from nature.
take care,
Louisa
Louisa, thanks for the reading suggestions! I will certainly check them out!
What a beautiful shot!
Sometimes in the deep of winter, it’s necessary to look to the infinitesimally small to see the beauty. Can’t resist a red berry amidst all the grey.
