“True silence is the rest of the mind, and is to the spirit what sleep is to the body, nourishment and refreshment” -William Penn
Throughout time the woods, forests, mountains and lakes have existed. However, the presence of such places is diminishing, and solitude and silence have become increasingly difficult to find. Ask yourself one question, where can you go on a daily routine where you cannot hear cars, dogs barking or even the faintest sound of man; where can you experience true silence? I cannot find such a place in my daily routine but I wish it differently. I wish there were snow-covered mountains and large pine forests in my backyard. I wish I could go for a walk in the woods for a few minutes a day and not see or hear anyone. For me, true silence is found in the woods, in the wilderness, where timber makes me still.
There is nothing like nature to make us aware of silence and feeling alone
